In true Pink style the show saw brand new, never tried before stunts, including being blown out of a box 100ft in the air by a canon, rolling around over the audience in a huge inflatable ball, performing acrobatics on silks 80ft in the air and flying like peter pan across the entire stadium. Pink is never one for doing things by halves – through all the incredible stunts one-thing remains clear, her love for the music and her larger than life voice, which filled out the 52,000 capacity stadium with ease. Her high-octane performance is incomparable to anything or any other artist out there. Not only does she put on the most visually stunning show from start to finish, with every single detail thought of – from lights to set, to the at times, hilarious video footage behind the stage but Pink proves once again that she is the ultimate artist of a generation. The performance featured a set that looked like an entire summer carnival town recreated onstage.
Pink arrived on the scene with a spectacular acrobatic stunt. The artist was by “dropped” from a giant crane-suspended box of balloons. From there the breath-taking feats just kept coming, as Pink channeled her inner trapeze artist.
Throughout the show, there were costume changes galore, from various trapeze artist looks to something akin to a dominatrix ringmaster. And, those were just Pink’s costumes. At one point, back-up dancers were onstage with some sort of skimp, neon, pseudo-savage costumes.
The stage show also included a giant hamster-ball that Pink navigated into the crowd.
There is no doubt that the audience got their money’s worth at the high energy, part circus, part concert show. Watch the Funhouse Summer Carnival Video!
