[Carey Hart]

Carey ‘Carebear’ Jason Hart (not to be confused with musician Corey Hart) was born July 17th 1975, Las Vegas. He was the first (freestyle) motorcrosser to land a back-flip [Watch]. Today he’s more of a business man, running tattoo shops, clubs and Hart & Huntington merchandising. According to Pink, Carey also is “a piece of pumpkin pie”.

[They meet]

Pink and Carey met at 2001 X Games. She shook his hand and five minutes later he broke 14 bones [Watch]. As that happened, Pink said to a friend: “Mark my words, I’ll never date a freestyle motorcross rider.” Apperantly Pink made a pretty memorable impression on him: “I knew within the first few weeks after meeting her that I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life.”

A year after they met, Pink was watching Carey as a girlfriend, as he did the back-flip perfectly at 2002 X Games [Watch].

December 2002, Carey told a Las Vegas journal journal Pink might be heading down the aisle with him, but Pink’s publicist confirmed a few days later that the two are dating, not planning to marry. Later, Pink reveals Carey proposed to her a few times but she wasn’t ready.

Around October 2003 they broke up for a few weeks. At that time Pink has been photographed with Tommy Lee a few times, but Pink denies they were dating then: “It was only a kiss on the cheeck for a paparazzi pic.” Then Carey broke his legs in a motorcross accident and Pink flew over to him to support him. Pink tells her dad “I was so scared, I thought he could be dead!” They’re back together then.

In June 2005, during a motorcross game there’s always someone helding up a sign to tell te motorcrosser how he’s doing in the game. Pink held up that sign with ‘Marry me!’ written on it. “He has his nervous twitch when he shakes his head,” Carey: “When I’m racing, like when you make a mistake you kind of shake it off. So I put the sign out and he comes by and goes like that. I’m all ‘He just said no!’ and I wrote ‘I’m serious!’ on the next lap.” Carey got off his motorcycle immediately, almost hitting some other guy, and kissed her. “He ditched the race for me. So it was also a test of priorities” (laughs).

Her 5-carat diamond ring embarrasses her. She calls it a chandelier and usually turns it around so the rock is facing down.

Right after Pink proposed, they got on holiday in Mexico, July 17th 2005.

At January 7th 2006, their marriage found place at Costa Rica.

The newlyweds almost never saw each other, now and then they met in a hotel room. Although it seemed to work for them at first, it eventually parts them. “When it’s bad, it’s bad. I’m so dramatic… and in the past, I’ve been really mean. Carey sat me down one day when we weren’t fighting and said, ‘Baby, when you call me names, it hurts my feelings. Please try to stop.’ And I was like ‘Wow, thank you for telling me how you feel.’ That’s also what the song Mean is about. It’s like, How did we get so mean? I can just be really mean. I can cut people down. I don’t like to. I don’t want to be like that anymore.” Pink says she needs to fight with her husband because being in love and being happy ruins her creativity.

“Our idea of marriage was never a fairy tale. It was more like, ‘We really like each other – we should just try, see what happens.’ I don’t regret a minute of it. I’ll do it again. I’ll do it a thousand more times, even though I don’t really think it’s necessary.”

February 19th 2008, the couple breaks up andPink reached out personally to her fans, through a letter on MySpace [Read]. “The most important thing for you all to know, is that Carey and I love each other so so much. This break up is not about cheating, anger, or fighting. I know it sounds like cliche bullshit, but we are best friends, and we will continue to be. One never knows the future, but mine and Carey’s just might involve beach babies and sunshine one day. Just not right now.”

“The reason we’re still friends and so bizarrely solid is because we have a lot of fun together. I told him I would give him away at his next wedding. I’m not possesive. When I love somebody, I just love them, and I want them to be happy. And I love Carey so much, I want him to be happy, and he wants me to be to be happy. At the end of the day, that’s more important to us than owing each other.”

The break-up definately made her more vulnerable, but also wiser. “It’s up and down. You have strong moments, and you have weak moments. But it’s not just been devastating – it’s been freedom too. I learned more about myself in the last eight months than I had in seven years.”

Pink and Carey shock the world of gossip when Carey appears in Pink’s music video for So What, which is obviously written about him. “He’s a good sport, it didn’t take a lot of convincing, he hadn’t even heard the song before he showed up. He’s like ‘What time I have to be there?’ That’s how much he trusts me. I was like ‘Just play lines 2 and 7.’ He laughed, but there also were some tears.”

Pink performed at Carey’s club in Las Vegas at new years eve, 2008/2009. Reports say she and Carey hung out in the VIP area before her 30-minute show but didn’t talk much. At midnight Carey grabbed her and led her up to the stage. They toasted with a kiss on the cheeck. After the show, Pink went backstage to the VIP area and hung out with friends before leaving the club around 2 a.m.

Pink later reveals that she actually did start a new relationship while she and Carey were apart, but it only made her miss him more. “I met the perfect guy,” she says, though she won’t tell us his name. “He was everything I wanted: He was romantic, he was a musician, and he was ready to jump in headfirst. But at one point, I looked at him, and I was like ‘You’re perfect… but you’re not Carey. It’s so easy to go out there and have butterflies in a new relationship, but when shit goes wrong, do you throw in the towel? I’m a big believer in putting in the work.”

January 14th 2009, Pink and Carey were photographed while they were jogging together, one of the first times they have been seen together at the time.

Late January 2009, sources tell Carey has moved back in with Pink. He visits her while she practises for her Funhouse Tour stunts.

September 2009, Carey said in an interview told they’re rebuilding. “Sometimes you have to take a couple of steps backwards to move forward… We’re definately putting in work.” But they took it slow, proceeding cautiously. “We’re now better than ever,” Pink says.

The whole Funhouse album has been healing for both of them. “I never said all this really sweet, vulnerable stuff. I think writing the album the way I did has been really good for me, for him, for us.”

“When I met Carey, I was an abused puppy in the corner, ready to bite anyone who put their hand out. And there’s a part of me who will always be kind of like that. But he was the first man I was with who allowed me to take a deep breath and close my eyes and fall backward. And most of the time, he was there. My heart was like this clenched first, Carey made it bigger. And even after he broke my heart, still, I had two bigger halves. I have more capacity to love and to be loved.”

“I like him so much because he always is Carey, no matter what room he walks into.” Carey is just as hung up on Pink as she is on him. “Whether she has just rolled out of the shower with no makeup on or is walking down a red carpet, the way she carries herself is so sexy. Plus, she can rock a 50,000-person stadium, then fly home, help load up the motor home, and spend the weekend with me drinking beers in the desert.”

They even want to have kids in the near future: “At the moment we’re not trying to, but I can’t wait to not try not to.”
