After 17 concerts to 205,000 fans, Pink has played the final Melbourne date on her Funhouse tour at Rod Laver Arena.

The chart topper leaves Melbourne today with only one regret – no addition to her collection of ink by her favourite tattooist, Giovanni from Northcote.

“I ran out of time and I’m pissed about it,” Pink said.

Melbourne is Pink’s strongest market in Australia, the closest being Sydney with 12 shows.

Melbourne’s love affair with Pink works both ways.

“It’s been awesome,” Pink said. “I finally know my way around the city. I’ve said that before but now I’m clear.”

Pink’s downtime during her six separate visits to Melbourne on the Funhouse tour have included trips to wineries and a Carlton match. “I had the best vegan parma and sticky date pudding – twice – at the East Brunswick Club’,” Pink said. “And the Dali exhibition was amazing.”

The Funhouse tour, which started in May, sold a remarkable 660,000 tickets nationally over 58 shows.

Industry sources say the tour has generated more than $70 million, one of the highest grossing tours in Australian history. It ends in Sydney on August 29.

Pink will then fly to the US to celebrate her 30th birthday with husband Carey Hart, one week before before the American leg of her tour starts on September 15.

“I’ve loved this whole tour but now it’s near the end I just wanna go home and lick my dog Bubba. If he was here, I could stay here forever,” she said.

The star has a special meal in mind for her birthday.

“I’ll have Spaghettios with a chocolate cupcake and a nice glass of wine. Keep the ghetto and the fabulous,” she said.

Pink performed more shows in Melbourne (17) than the 11 shows for the US leg of the tour.

“I’ve done more shows in this city than I’ll do in my entire country,” Pink Twittered this week. “So funny.”

The singer filmed a show in Sydney for the Live in Australia DVD due out in October.

The tour has kept Funhouse in the Australian Top 10 for the past three months; it has gone from seven times platinum (490,000 copies sold) to nine times platinum (630,000) during her Australian leg.

Pink’s back catalogue has also enjoyed renewed sales; before Michael Jackson’s death she broke a record for the most albums in the Top 40 by the one artist.
