Pink left a lunch date in Malibu, California on April 11, 2011 wearing a floral patterned dress, leather jacket, green pants and a pair of work boots. Pink searched through her wallet for cash to pay the valet fro her car and headed off to the Palisades area for the afternoon. The “So What” singer arrived a private residence.

Amazing Lady!

Grammy-winner and expectant mother Pink has just sent a letter on PETA’s behalf to President Barack Obama asking him to direct the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to reopen and prosecute three cases of egregious cruelty by the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

In 2006, the USDA told then-Senator Obama that it would “pursue appropriate enforcement action.”

However, the three cases—which involve the deaths of a young lion and a baby elephant and the videotaped beating of another elephant—were closed with no action taken.

“The nation has recently witnessed such lax regulatory enforcement and abdication of responsibility in the cases of the West Virginia mining tragedy, the BP oil spill, and the banking scandals—with dire consequences. The USDA’s Office of the General Counsel must be held accountable in the performance of its duties and the promise that animal protection will be secured under the law.”

Dear Mr. President,

In 2006, you made an inquiry to the USDA, in behalf of your constituents, regarding the status of three cases of egregious cruelty by Feld Entertainment (dba Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus). At that time, you were assured that the USDA would “pursue appropriate enforcement action” in all three cases. However, the USDA’s Office of the General Counsel has yet to take enforcement action of any kind, and evidence of Ringling’s cover-ups, interference with investigations, and tampering with evidence are contained in the USDA’s own records and in sworn testimony.

My friends at PETA are now challenging the Office of the General Counsel’s inaction and petitioning the USDA to begin enforcement proceedings. I am writing to respectfully request that you direct Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack to prosecute these three cases involving Ringling’s illegal conduct in the following incidents:

· Clyde, a 2-year-old lion, was killed when he was left to bake to death in a boxcar as the circus traveled through the Mojave Desert on a scorching July day when temperatures exceeded 100 degrees. The circus refused to stop so that Clyde could be given water because the train was behind schedule.

· Eight-month-old baby elephant Riccardo was killed during a violent training session in which workers used ropes and bullhooks to force him to stand on a circus pedestal. He fell off the pedestal, breaking both of his legs, and had to be euthanized.

· Angelica, an elephant, was beaten with a bullhook while she was chained by two legs.

I ask that a member of your staff meet with PETA’s captive-animal protection staff in order to discuss this matter. The nation has recently witnessed such lax regulatory enforcement and abdication of responsibility in the cases of the West Virginia mining tragedy, the BP oil spill, and the banking scandals—with dire consequences. The USDA’s Office of the General Counsel must be held accountable in the performance of its duties and the promise that animal protection will be secured under the law. Pink kept her baby bump covered up as she strolled arm in arm with hubby Carey Hart in Malibu

Staying shielded from the sun in a black frock, wide brimmed hat and sunglasses, the expectant singer could be seen sharing a few laughs as she canoodled with her baby daddy.

During their beachside walk, father-to-be Carey expressed his feelings about the paparazzi presence via his trademark one-finger salute.

Pink and her husband Carey Hart were spotted strolling around the Malibu Country Mart.

They browsed around in the home furnishings store “Room with a View” and then bought two coffee drinks at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

Pink, who is expecting a girl in May, hasn’t been holding back on letting the public know the details of her pregnancy. She recently Tweeted about having her baby shower in Philadelphia.

Rock icon and animal defender Pink recently fired off a letter to President Obama asking him to find out why the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has closed three investigations into serious allegations of cruelty to animals by the Ringling Bros. circus without taking action. The investigations expired because of the statute of limitations—a delay caused by the USDA, the very department that was supposed to be investigating Ringling!

PETA is challenging the Office of General Counsel to reopen these investigations because the following animals suffered and died while in Ringling’s “care”:

• Clyde, a 2-year-old lion, was killed when he was allowed to bake to death in a boxcar as the circus traveled through the Mojave Desert on a scorching July day when temperatures exceeded 100 degrees. The circus refused to stop the train so that Clyde could be watered because the train was behind schedule.

Five years ago, while still serving as a senator, Barack Obama asked the USDA on PETA’s behalf for an update on these pending cases and was assured that appropriate action was being pursued.

The lack of action in these investigations is particularly troubling since government officials have already been found to be in cahoots with Ringling.

We’re also calling on the USDA to seize four elephant traveling with Ringling right now who are suffering from painful arthritis. Please don’t wait to speak out for these animals—they need you now.

Mom-to-be Pink is just trying to stay on her feet.

In the latest set of amusing (and personal) Tweets that the singer, 31, has posted during her pregnancy, she admits she’s having trouble walking.

“I am the clumsiest I have ever been in my life,” she Tweeted Monday night. “Fell AGAIN today! I feel like my 92 yr old grammom … #dumb.”

Explains the mama-to-be, “I just feel … silly. I fell up the stairs.”

Less silly, however, is the Tweet where Pink explains what her mom went through when she was pregnant.

“My dad drug her by her coat 20 feet hanging from the car door in snow when I was in her tummy,” she writes.
